• In deciding to grant Harris Distribution the 22 additional trailers it requires for a distribution contract with Rank Hovis, North Eastern LA Frederick Whalley has imposed environmental conditions on the company's licence.
The company had applied to add the trailers to its existing licence, authorising 30 vehicles and 20 trailers, based at Ossett. Environmental representations were made by neighbouring residents on grounds of noise from the company's 24-hour operation, Following a site visit, the LA has granted the additional trailers, but has imposed conditions prohibiting the parking of authorised vehides, and the connecting and disconnecting of trailers, on the western side of the warehouse; prohibiting movement in the same area between 22:00 and 07:30hrs Monday to Saturday, and completely on Sundays and bank holidays; and prohibiting the running of engines for more than five minutes.
