• Regulations which come into force April 1 make it an offence, punishable fines of up to £200 in respect of goods vehi and £50 for cars, to use unsuitable, damn under-inflated or bald tyres. Conditioi tyres will shortly be included, like lip brakes and steering, as one ofthe fundame items of vehicle testing, and it will be pa the heavy goods vehicle tests which star Ministry stations in July.
The requirements are set out in the MI Vehicles (Construction and Use) (Anil merit) (No. 4) Regulations 1967 No. 1' costing 6d from HMSO. The new sec replaces Regulation 82 of the 1966 C an provisions.
