• The first 346kW (470hp) Scania R143 in the UK has gone in to service with Graham Cordiner of Peterhead. The DSC14-04 engine is fitted with Scania's new Electronic Diesel Control engine management system which incorporates a cruise control that operates by controlling the function of the fuel pump. Sensors in the injection pump and tachograph are monitored by the EDC system to provide exactly the right amount of fuel for the road conditions and speed. Cordiner's lift-axle tractor unit was supplied by Reliable Vehicles, Aberdeen.
