• MAN says it can meet all the new 16.5m artic turning and length regulations with its 3.5m tractive units.
Applications engineering manager Bob Paton says MAN's cab design gives comparatively more front overhang than its competitors, allowing minimum statutory clearances to be achieved without affecting ride or handling.
On 3.8m-wheelbase tractors, says Paton, the fifth wheel has to be moved forward, effectively shifting the load balance from the drive axle towards the front axle.
