• The second Scottish Bus Group company up for sale is Midland Scottish, the Falkirkbased subsidiary operating throughout Central Region and into Edinburgh and Glasgow.
Most of Midland's six depots are in Central Region — at Alloa, Balfron, Bannockburn and Falkirk but it also has depots at Linlinthgow, Lothian and at Oban, Strathclyde.
The Midland fleet includes 279 buses and coaches, with 772 staff. In 1989 the company carried an estimated 25.5 million passengers.
The first SBG company to be offered for sale was Lowland, which was advertised last month, but no sales are expected until the early summer.
