• Swansea haulier Arthur and Morgan has had its licence renewed despite local authority opposition, following a visit to the company's operating centre by South Wales Licensing Authority John Mervyn Pugh.
Last August the LA renewed the six-vehicle/eight-trailer licence for just three months following complaints from West Glamorgan County Council and residents about parking.
Granting a licence for five vehicles and six trailers, Mervyn Pugh imposed conditions that no more than four vehicles and five trailers be at the site at any one time; that vehicles must enter and leave the site in a forward gear; that all vehicles must be parked in accordance with an agreed plan submitted; and that no vehicles may be parked in the street within half a mile of the operating centre.
