• Hillingdon Council is seeking a judicial review of the Government's directive banning the council from carrying out its own vehicle maintenance contract from 1 September (CM 22-28 March).
Anthony Scrivener QC has told the council that the Department of Environment's allegation of anti-competitive procedures in awarding the tender is "wholly misconceived both on facts and law" and that the council had a duty to ratepayers to act as it did.
