As long as the oil is changed regularly, Holmes blowers are remarkably lowwearing assemblies, able to run for several years without major repair work.
To change the oil, remove the plug near the base of the gearcase. The Holmes type 613 RBTM holds 1.5 litres, and Priden recommends a 20/50 mineral al—but not EP, or one wlth any emulsifying additives.
