• Irish distributor Emerald Freight Express is to run a franchise operation for Lynx, the express parcel operator.
Dublin-based Emerald will operate a next-day and a threeday service under the Lynx name and using Lynx vehicles.
Lynx managing director Alan Soper says his company has taken on Emerald to penetrate the Irish express market, which is growing by about 40% a year, and is currently worth around 215m.
Lynx has relocated its Northern Ireland branch from Craigavon to Belfast — the destination for most of its Northern Ireland traffic.
