Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

plan to leave anti-freeze solution in my tippers during the summer; the makers claim that it inhibits corrosion. Are they right?

AAnti-freeze can be treated with an

additive that combats corrosion and when this is done it is an advantage to leave it in the radiator throughout the year. Whether or not it would be necessary to renew the solution after 12 months could depend on the amount of replenishment water that has been added—and the hardness of the water. It is generally advisable to renew anti-freeze at the start of the winter.

Anti-freeze tends to increase the running temperature of the engine and this should be remembered if the vehicle is operating under arduous conditions in hot weather. And if the solution finds its way into the lubricating oil, because of a leaking gasket or any other cause, it may have a deleterious effect on the properties of the lubricant.
