The gas committee of Stoke-on-Trent Corporation has received a report from the engineer, on the experiments being made in connection with the employment of compressed-gas fuel as a substitute for petrol in road-transport vehicles. It has been decided to appoint a sub-committee to visit some of these plants.
Agreement Approved.
Bexhill Corporation has been informed by the South-Eastern Traffic Commissioners that they approve of the agreement between the corporation and Maidstone and District Motor Services, Ltd., regarding the use of double-deckers on various routes.
Middlesbrough Increases Fares.
One of the first municipalities in the country to raise its motorbus fares is Middlesbrough, which, as a result of the petrol-price increase, has made slight increases in a number of low fares.
