A N express-service licence authorizr-I ing them to carry one passengerover a six-rnile route in Pembrokeshire has been granted to The Western Welsh Omnibus Co., Ltd., by the South Wales
Licensing Authority. .
Mr. F. H. Pertgelly, traffic manager of Western Welsh, said that the passenger was a 127year-o1d schoolgirl who had to walk six miles from her home in Letterston' to board a school bus at Castle Morris.
They sought permission to carry the girl on a bus returning empty after• dropping workers at. the Trecwn naval establishment in the morning, and again on the same service in the evening when the hits travelled empty to Trecwn to pick up the workers.
Granting the application, the chairman of the Authority, Mr. C. R. Hodgson, commented: " It is very considerate of you. I hope the girl and her mother appreciate it."
SECRET EQUIPMENT BY SMALL VAN
QECRET equipment is to be carried to the south of England from the erranti works in Edinburgh in-a small unescorted van driven by a firewood merchant. Mr. M. Borthwick, East Silver Mills Lane, Edinburgh, was last week—granted a variation of his existing licence and a licence for a new vehicle by the Scottish Licensing Authority.
Applicant carried for Ferranti within 20 miles and it had been proposed that he should transport delicate machinery to .Ministry of Supply depots in the south. The work was secret, but Mr. Borthwick could work without supervision,
