THE first move towards a better and 1 more co-ordinated public transport system in the Glasgow area was made last week by a special committee of Glasgow Corporation under the chairmanship of the Lord Provost, Mrs. Jean Roberts. The committee. appointed to consider the future of public transport in the city, called for reports from the city engineer, municipal transport manager, and the chief constable before talks with representatives of the British Transport Commission and the Scottish Omnibus Group.
