Waving the flag by John Bull

ONLY ONE British manufacturer was represented at last week's Bri Tyrex International Exhibition in Brighton.

John Bull Tyres, one of the oldest manufacturers in the country, displayed a comprehensive range of new tyres for cars, light vans, and lorries, and had one of the first of a new range of general purpose lorry tyres on its stand.

Retreading equipment was prominent in the exhibition, and one of the more interesting examples was an experimental Kenprest Compressor on the Retreading Equipment Ltd stand.

Other retreading equipment was displayed by AMF International, Novarnere, and VVSystem AG of Switzerland.

Avon Rubber Company (Bridgend) Ltd had its slab rubber suitable for ram extruders on show along with curing envelopes, bladders, cushion rubbers, and sidewall veneers.

Bardvulc showed its rubber processing machinery and British Vita showed its versatility in compound formulations for the tyre retreading industry.
