• Peugeot is the first company to announce a sale date for the new Sevel panel van. Ten variants of the Peugeot Boxer will go on sale from 30 June. The range will consist of panel vans and chassis-cabsconverters have traditionally been the largest market for Peugeot Talbot Sevel derivatives. Minibus versions will be introduced next year. Engine options will include the new DJ5 2.5-litre three-valve-percylinder diesel and its catalyst-equipped DJ5T turbocharged variant. Peugeot has not yet decided whether to bring either of two new carderived vans into the UK. The 106 Van is a conventional "hatchvan" conversion of the three-door 106; a more interesting newcomer is the "Fourgonette", a high-cube derivative of the 205 hatch. Both are capable and attractive vehicles, but they will have to compete in a fierce market against established vehicles such as the Ford range and able newcomers such as the Renault Clio and Vauxhall Combo.
