Euro-4/5 trucks
No prizes for this one. Word is, Euro-4 spec is tantamount to adding £10,000 to the asking price of the same truck from just a year ago, and more than £15,000 for a Euro-5. Canny operators are planning to raid the piggy bank over the next 18 months to ensure they are ready for the doom and gloom that sits on the horizon; i.e. the forthcoming change in emissions requirements for the London Low Emission Zone (LEZ) on 3 January 2012, and the Euro-6 engine, mandatory from 1 January 2014. Failure to adhere to the first will cost you an arm and a leg, and buying the latter your remaining limbs.
