AN optical instrument designed for inspecting the insides of tanks, combustion chambers. gearboxes and so on. without the need for dismantling. has been marketed by Messrs. R. F. Produx. 14 Marlborough Road. Woking. Surrey.
The master unit contains a highoutput electric bulb. the light from which is directed onto a chromiumplated prism. There are circumstances in which the instrument can be used for direct vision, but in other cases extension pieces provided with a mirror can be attached to the master unit.
Known as the InspectascOpe, the instrument can be used for inspecting the interior of any mechanism, provided there is a hole of not less than I-in. diameter for inserting the extension. Complete with two standard extensions
of and diameter, respectively, the instrument casts £4 4s. Extensions up to 42 in. long and up to 1 in. in diameter are available at
extra cost. Quick-scan probes with movable lower mirrors for inspecting large internal areas are available in sizes from 1-in. to 3-in, diameter and from 12 in. to 42 in. long.
