THE Ministry of Transport last week announced the making of four Regulations which came into force on Thursday. They are: The Goods Vehicles (Licences and Prohibitions) Regulations, 1960; The Public Service Vehicles (Licences and Certificates) (Amendment) Regulations, 1960; The Public Service Vehicles (Contract Carriage Records) Regulations, 1960; and The Public Service Vehicles (Particulars of Interests)
Regulations, 1960. • The new goods regulations consolidate the Goods Vehicles (Licences and Prohibitions)Regulations, 1952, which govern the procedure on the grant and variation of carriers' licences and appeals. They make no substantial changes and merely include such verbal amendments as were required because of the consolidation of the Road and Rail Traffic Act, 1933, into the Road Traffic Act, 1960.
The three passenger regulations bring up to date the Public Service Vehicles (Licences and Certificates) Regulations, 1952, the Public Service Vehicles (Contract Carriage Records) Regulations, 1951, and the Public Service Vehicles (Particulars of Interest) Regulations, 1934, and make only minor verbal amendments to the existing provisions.
