THREE Magirus-Deutz vehicles are. to
I be displayed at the Commercial
Motor Show by Kkicknef-HumboldtDeutz, A.G. One of these will be an airsprung, rear-engined city bus of integral construction, which will make the exhibit uniqueat the Show. The btis is a Saturn
II model with 32 seats and standing room for a further 72 naskengeTs.
The Deutz air-cooled V-6 125 b.b.p. oil engine is mounted longitudinally at the rear, in unit with a Z.F. five-speed synchromesh gearbox. Bellows-type air springs are employed at both axles, the front axle having a divided beam to give independent suspension.
A hydraulic servo' is applied to the Z.F.-Gemrner . steering and the braking system is hydraulic, with air-pressure assistance. An electro-pneumatically operated exhaust brake is standard equipment. Square-section steel tubes form the framing of the integral bodywork, and light alloy is used for the panelling.
The other two Magirus-Deutz exhibits
arc goods vehicles. One is a Saturn 145 AK 6 x 6 normal-control tipper, and this is powered by a Deutz air-cooled 145 b.h.p. oil engine. The other is a Uranus AE six-wheeled oilfields tractor with Deutz 250-b.h.p. oil engine.
