London Transport Routemasters are taking to Paris and across the Atlantic to New York and Baltimore in the next few weeks. Local people will be riding on them to displays specially mounted at large stores in all three cities to boost the sales of British goods.
In Paris, for a fortnight starting on Friday, August 26, the first bus-72-seater RML 2543—is carrying shoppers from Clichy, in the north-western suburbs of the capital, tA Galeries Lafayette, the international fashiot house in the Boulevard Haussmann. It is the firs visit of a Routemaster to Paris.
London buses are no strangers to the Unite( States, and RML 2396, which will spend twc weeks in New York, from September 12 to 24 will be the second bus to go there in less that a year. It will then move on for a further fort night in Baltimore, from September 26 to Octobei S.
