KARRIER MOTORS is planning a major sales drive in the Irish Republic for its Dodge range.
Dodge truck sales in 1982 were 10 per cent of the Irish commercial vehicle market, behind Ford's 14.8, Hino's 13.8 and Fiat's 11.5 per cent. Its top performer was the Commando, with a claimed 18 per cent share of the 7.5 tonne weight sector, behind the best-selling Ford Cargo.
The distribution of Dodge products in Ireland is handled by Talbot Ireland and a 12-strong dealer network provides sales and service back-up.
Renault vehicles sales in Ireland will expand beyond the light commercial range by the introduction later this year of two new maximum weight tractive units, the medium duty Renault G260 and the heavier R310 model.
