• German manufacturer Ernst Auwarter has produced a 12seat minibus which is claimed to have the widest door space for a vehicle of its class.
The Microstar is based on a 3.32m-wheelbase VW Caravelle. It has air-operated 1.3m-wide double doors and a step/floor height of 320mm.
Auwarter believes it will suit shopping centres, feeder routes and airport operations, with its lift-up rear door to ease luggage access; a three to seven seating plan, and almost 500mm more headroom than a standard Caravelle.
