pay and subsistence allowance increases set out in R.11175) were considered at a special meeting of the Road Haulage .Wages Council in London Yesterday. The proposals set out in R.H.(75) arc, briefly, to increase special night money from 8d. to I Id. an hour and subsistence from •18s.. to 20s. -per rest period; the closing date for objections was last Friday, August 23.
If the matter is satisfactorily, settled this week, the final proposals will go to the Minister of Labour for formal approval and will then be issued as Road Haulage Wages Order R.H.(76); the Minister will set a date for the new rates.
