NEVILLE CHARROLD Ltd is marketing an airlock-dropflap tailboard known as the Clampit.
It comprises a standard top swing tailgate approximately two-thirds of the body depth with an extended bottom edge. The Clampit is a separate bottom-hinged steel door, operated through an airshift control fitted in the cab.
A clam action holds the top section tailboard firmly in place when not in use.
When open, the Clampit protects the rear lights and can control the amount of load to be discharged at the flick of a switch. A pressure switch is fit ted to the top section operating a warning light in the cab which tells the driver when the tailgate is open.
