A SPECIAL meeting of tht West Midlands Count) Council is to be held on Sep tember 3 to discuss WM PTE plans for a ten per cent cut ir bus services.
The meeting has been callec by the Labour opposition, whict claims that "savage reductions' are being pushed through with out full council consultation.
Labour leader Councillo Gordon Morgan said that thi proposed cuts axi6g 39 service: and reducing 200 more wen "sprung" on the transport com mittee only two days after thi last council meeting.
"There isn't another counci meeting until October 13 – nearly a fortnight after the cut: are due to be implemented," hi said.
The Save Public Transpor Campaign is printing 20,00( anti-cuts leaflets for distributioi around Birmingham.
