ILTRA-V1OLET lighting equipment suitable for 12v. and 24v. operation is being produced by Easco Electrical (Holdings), Ltd., 6-8 Brighton Terrace, London, S.W.9. It can be used to illuminate publicity bill-boards printed in fluorescent inks—as featured by Evening News vans, which have two 15w. lighting tubes.
Current consumption of ordinary tubes 1 ft. 6 in. long is 48w. The converter unit houses a vibrator, step-up transformer and associated control gear. Filters exclude all visible light emanating from the tubes, passing only ultra-violet rays. These filters can he replaced by clear glass if ordinary lighting is required.
The converter unit measures 1 ft. 1 in. by 5 in. by 5 in. and weighs 10 lb.
