Automotive Products. Co., Ltd., Shore Road, Speke, Liverpool, 24, are now manufacturing hoses with a lining of synthetic 'rubber covered with close. braicied cotton 'yarn to separate the lining from the single-ply braided steel

wire reinforcements. A top cover of similar material to the lining is keyed to the metal braiding to give a hard-wearing and oil-resistant exterior surface, as may be necessary for automobile or industrial applications.

The hose can b.e supplied in any one of four lining ma-terial; Nitrile, Butyl, natural rubber and Neoprene, making it suitable for the transmission of many compounds.

AN attachment for their bench drill stand is offered by Wolf Electric Tools, Ltd., Pioneer Works, Hanger Lane, London, W.5. Called the radial drill arm, it is a machined casting which may be inserted between the base and pillar of the drill stand to give articulated motion of the pillar.

This enables the drill to be swung over the whole area of the base. Thus several holes may be drilled without moving the work piece, simplifying, for example. jig boring. The radial arm may be locked in any position by the operative.

The exhauster is mounted on the tractor. Breaking the pipeline connection between tractor and trailer also breaks the electrical supply to the motor so that it cannot operate when the tractor is solo. The isolating,' switch assembly incorporated in this system is termed assembly AD.290.

This switch is adjustable throughout its range, and units are normally sent out by the company to cut in at approximately, 20 in. of mercury and cut out at 24 in.
