these buses are used for carrying school children. Can you tell me how many children should be carried on each of them ?
A Where only children not over 15 years of
age and not more than six necessary attendants are carried on a public service vehicle, any three children may, so long as they are sitting passengers only, be reckoned as two passengers. On vehicles with not more than 12 seats for which a certificate of fitness is first issued on or after April 11 1958, the maximum number of children which can be reckoned on this basis is nine.
Full details of these provisions are contained in the psv and Trolley Vehicles (Carrying Capacity) Regulations No. 1612/54 and the Amendment Regulations No. 472/58.
