In the first case of its kind, a shared operating centre has been deleted from both parties' licences because of breaches of environmental conditions.
Collins Road Services and CRS (Contracts) shared the operating centre at Chaneys Warehouse, West Drayton Road, Hillingdon. Collins Road Services was authorised for 15 vehicles and four trailers and CRS (Contracts) for 10 vehicles and four trailers.
Conditions restricting the hours of operation and the length of time that engines could be run had been imposed following complaints from neighbouring residents.
But South Eastern and Metropolitan Traffic Commissioner Brigadier Michael Turner decided to remove the Chaneys Warehouse site from both licences after hearing evidence from a Department of Transport traffic examiner concerning a number of occasions when the condi. tions had been breached.
He directed that his decision should not take effect until January so both companies can find a new base. They have until 20 November to appeal.
