Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Cummins is extending the service intervals on its MI1 engines from 40,000km to 60,000km using conventional oil. With synthetic oil the interval increases to 120,000km provided oil samples are taken every 10,000km from 60,000km onwards.

• Apologies to Lipe, whose single-plate 430mm clutch is fitted to Seddon Atkinson's Strata 17.380 tractive unit. In our recent test (CM 16-22 October) we stated erroneously that the Seddon was fitted with a Spicer clutch.

• Exel drinks distribution arm Tradeteam has just bought 73 tractive units and trailers. The Volvo trucks are port of a £6m order, itself part of Tradeteam's fouryear fleet renewal programme which will cost over £28m in total.

• General haulier JH Dews of Huddersfield claims that an 18-month trial of Shell Advanced Diesel fuel, Rimula Ultra 5W-30 engine oil and synthetic transmission oil has resulted in fuel savings of up to 10%. Fuel consumption was monitored for the firm's entire fleet of 24 vehicles.

• Tesco has introduced its 1,000th Scania into service. The vehicle, a P941.A4x2NA 310 tractive unit, is one of 139 similarly specified units being delivered to the company this year. Tesco is also taking 36 P124LA4x2LA 360 tractors, which will be the first Scanias to enter service with the company's petrol delivery fleet.
