BP centres BP OIL Ltd is now blending and fitting packages of lubrication oils to stock. And these stocks will be located nearer to the point of demand. The company is bringing into operation new purpose-built packed distribution centres at Rochdale, Lanes; Oldbury, near Birmingham and Enfield, London, each near the M-way network. The new centres are in addition to the centre at Rutherglen, near Glasgow.
Keeping pace
CONTA1NERBASE (Barking) Ltd has recently completed a new transit shed as part of a major programme aimed at keeping pace with increasing traffic. The new facility has been provided to improve Containerbase's ability to handle specialised cargoes. The Barking operation, together with Containerbases at Birmingham, Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds and Glasgow (Coatbridge) constitutes the largest Inland Clearance Depot group in the UK.
