A NEW 6 by 4 conversion on a NEW

model KGLC.8 chassis is to be exhibited by Reynolds Boughton Engineering Services, Ltd., at the Commercial Motor Show. They are also showing a breakdown vehicle based on a Bedford R 4 by 4 chassis, a special oilfilled-cable test van body on a Thames Trader Mk. 11 5-tonner and a number of hydraulic and mechanical winches, including two new models.

The 6 by 4 conversion will be in the demonstration park and the main feature is a Reynolds Boughton two-speed auxiliary gearbox with direct and 2 to I reduction drives. The final drive is from the auxiliary box to each rear axle.

Non-reactive type suspension with conventional leaf springs is employed. The front end of each spring is mounted in a fixed shackle, the rear ends being located in swinging shackles connected by bellcrank levers and rod linkages.
