MA new container transport company has risen from the ashes of Les Sampson's haulage business, which went into receivership last December.
TSL has been formed by 40 former Sampson staff who operate about 20 trucks from a site down the road from Sampson's former West Thurrock depot.
Financial controller Geoff Murphy says that TSL has retained some of Sampson's old customers. Les Sampson is acting as a consultant to the new company. Like Sampson, TSL will concentrate predominantly on container movements, says Murphy.
Some other former Sampson employees, headed by John Bishop, have taken over the company's Seddon Atkinson dealership, now trading as Bridgeside Truck Centre.
Receiver Leonard Curtis says that assets from Les Sampson will be sold in a bid to pay back creditors. Curtis will not reveal how much Les Sampson owed, but estimates have put it as high as Lim.
