• Kel-Berg arrived in the UK 12 years ago and has a turnover of some £16m a year split roughly 50:50 between new truck contracts and trailers. The company is wholly-owned by Jens Larsen, better known in Denmark as a trailer manufacturer and bodybuilder, as well as a used equipment supplier Iffith a chassis plant In Germany, Larsen is also the largest truck and trailer dealer In Scandinavia, turning over 220m a year with a product range of over 100 different trailers in Europe.
In the UK, Kel-Berg sells between 200-300 trailers of all types annually, and provides around 250 new truck 'contracts'.
However, Larsen wants to sell more trailers In the UK: "I see us as a niche market player that's using 20 years of experience. What we're doing is on the small side compared to Denmark, but we've got a lot of experience and we've brought that to the UK," he says. 'We're trying to build up bespoke trailer trade, but can still offer a standard build. We're very customer orientated: we know what he needs as well as he does—I don't think many people can rival our knowledge."
