1 9TDI 19 August 2004 Trust the Germans to bring out a vehicle that hits the ground running most of its rivals can aspire only to its Teutonic design and build quality. Carved from a solid mass. or so it feels, the Caddy tussles with the Ford Connect for the accolade of most complete small van.
From the outside its high-cube rear (housing a load volume of 3.2m) and sloping front combine to produce a well proportioned van, while the driver is more than catered for thanks to a superior seating
position and peerless layout.
Joining the standard model is a Maxi version that frees up more load space thanks to an extended wheelbase; this makes it a useful 470mm longer and increases the maximum load volume to 4.2m3.
Power also takes a hike with a 138hp option joining the 104hp turbo-diesel. And if the larger version is as good as its smaller brother then the acclaim is sure to follow.
