Daf beefed up the SCR Furo-4/5 driveline to 12.9 litres with more horsepower and torque for six-axle configurations from 4x2 to 6x4. The CF85 fits nicely into a versatile market that requires power as it offers 360, 410, 460 and 510hp.
The engine brake is among the strongest around, and should keep the drums/discs going. It's a UK-specific truck, reflected in strong sales and residuals. Straight beam axles give good ground clearance off-road, but on-road performance is still strong. A new XFstyle cab roof and improved bunk increase its appeal.
