HE GREATER London Council as backed down from a potenial clash with the Department f Transport by dropping its ob)ction to the East London river rossing and two other major slid roads.
Transport committee vicehairman Paul Moore surprised le Conservative opposition at a ammittee meeting last week, fhen he announced the Labour IC's change of heart.
It will now support the DTp's lans in principle for the river ossing, the South Woodfordarking relief road, and the outh Woodford-Hackney link md as a by-pass for Leyton and eytonstone.
