MAN Concessionaires Ltd is extending its range of he haulage tractive units will "Jumbo" 6x6 unit with a of 160,000Kg (150 tons).
The .vehicle, designa 38.320 DFAT, is powered the VIO type D2530 diesel gine which develops 246 (330bhp) at 2,500rpm 1030Nm (760Ibft) torque 1,40Orpm.
This engine features unique MAN "M" spheri combustion system, wh k.es for good performance I fuel economy and prompt I starting. The new vehicle has a semiautomatic ZF eight-speed gearbox with ZF WSK 400 transmatic torque converter and a 1.49:1 ratio transfer box.
It features power-assisted steering, a driven front axle with hub reduction and MAN 31.5 ton capacity hub reduction (tandem drive) bogie axles with cross-axle and inter-axle differentials. The kingpin loading is 30.5 tonnes (30 tons).
Dual-circuit full air braking plus an air-operated engine exhaust brake and two-line trailer system are fitted. Bogie suspension is by a combination of twin, trunnionmounted semi-elliptical leaf springs and radius rods.
The Jumbo is fitted with a forward control tilt cab with a compartment for support crew or luxurious twin berths. Sliding doors with a special safety locking device can be fitted for ease of access.
