THIS is the new MAZ-543293971 artic, made in Minsk. It has a load-carrying capacity of 21 tons and, with overhauls needed only every 400,000km (248,000m), is intended for longdistance and international hauls. The information and picture come from the Tass newsagency and the caption adds, I quote, that Byelorussian diesels "can be seen not only on the roads of the Soviet Uniion, but also in Hungary, Morocco, Vietnam, Turkey, Cuba, Afghanistan and 44 other countries."
