THE Royal Automobile Club under1 stands from the Home Secretary that he will consider recommending the granting of Royal Pardons to drivers of utility vehicles who were convicted of speeding offences, if the following conditions are fulfilled:—
(1) The vehicle concerned was suitable for the carriage of both goods and passengers, weighed not more than 3 tons unladen and was equipped with pneumatic tyres all round.
(2) The vehicle was authorized under an A, B or C licence.
(3) The journey was one which could lawfully be carried out without the authority of a carrier's licence.
(4) The alleged offence took place on or after October 25, 1950.
(5) The road was not subject to a speed limit.
Applications to the Home Secretary should include the name of the court, date of conviction, full particulars of the vehicle concerned, nature of journey being undertaken and load carried, if any.
