Make Driver CPC fit your business, says minister
ON TUESDAY, THE Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) was launched by officials from the Department for Transport (DfT) and 17)river Standards Agency (DSA) at the headquarters of supermarket chain Waitrose in Bracknell.
When questoneo about the potential impact the Driver CPC might have on small hauliers, transport secretary Paul Clark (pictured left) says: "This qualification has been done in close partnership to bring forward the most flexible result for the profession.
"Most operators recognise the case, and there are savings to be had in terms of productivity and fuel consumption."
DSA deputy chief executive Nick Carter adds: "We have done our best to give the qualification maximum flexibility. There are an awful lot of benefits. My advice to operators is to work it to fit your business."
