• The Road Transport Industry Training Board has been given a new three-year lease of life by the Department of Employment, which has been reviewing the future of all the industrial training boards this summer.
The RTITB will now be officially "reconstituted", which means that a new board will be appointed. The board expects only a few familiar faces on the new board, which should be announced by next month.
The UK has just received a 2405 million European Social Fund grant from the European Community to help employ ment and training schemes across the industry. This represents over 19% of the fund's budget and puts the UK at the top of the EC league for receiving assistance during 1988.
