A TRUCK DRIVER has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving after a wheel came off of his truck and hit a car, killing the driver.
The incident happened at around 10am last Wednesday (26 November), between J12 (Clifton) and J11 (Preston) on the M56. The truck was travelling west when one of its wheels came off and rolled onto the eastbound carriageway. It hit a BMW car. killing the 29-year-old Southport woman at the wheel.
The 33-year-old truck driver from Manchester was released on bail until 2 February.
