HE accompanying illustration shows a new 1 confectionery van operated by Messrs. R. G. Coles, of Narborough, Leicestershire. At Narborough the firm have their bakery, and in Coventry and Birmingham are retail shops. Based on a Karrier Bantam 2-tonner with a 40 b.h.p. engine, this interesting delivery vehicle carries nearly 200 separate trays. Sliding doors on each side give ready access to the front compartment of the vehicle, and there are two folding doors at the rear.
A special feature of the design is the hinged canopy at the rear. It is correctly balanced and protects confectionery and men from rain during delivery operations.
Sturdy construction marks the bodywork and the external colour scheme is turquoise blue with red lettering.
