NOW engaged upon a three-month tour of Holland, Belgium, France and Germany, a mobile showroom for the display of diesel-service equipment produced by Leslie Hartridge, Ltd., 151 Great Portland Street, London, W.1, is being drawn by an Austin Gipsy.
The prime mover, which is driven by an pil engine, has a 415-v. alternator connected to a power take-off to provide current for the demonstration machines. The Coventry Steel Caravan Co., Ltd., built the showroom which, with its complement of machinery, weighs 3 tons. Inside, the showroom resembles a dieselservice workshop, offering facilities for pump and injector cleaning and testing. Lighting is by fluorescent tubes, and electric heating is installed.
The four wheels of the trailer have Warner electrical braking, a system which incorporates a rheostat on the prime mover. • Demonstrations are being given in the principal cities of the countries visited. and trade exhibitions are being attended. Mr. R. Lane, technical adviser is accompanied by demonstration staff.
