IN a message issued last week to mark I the tenth anniversary of the British Motor Corporation, the chairman, Mr. G. W. Harriman, points out that since the corporation was formed in 1952 annual production has risen from 278.840 vehicles to 601,399. Annual sales turnover has risen to £311m.
"Our current productive capacity exceeds 750,000 vehicles a year," continues Mr. Harriman, " and by next year our expansion plan will have raised capacity to a million vehicles a year—and nothing less will do if we are to meet the challenge of ever-increasing world demand for motor transport."
