WEST YORKSHIRE PTE is encouraging recreational use of its public transport network by publishing a 150-page colour guide to destinations which can be reached by bus and train.
A full-colour illustrated section at the front gives details of the attractions of the towns and countryside in the county, and includes maps detailing suggested circular tours which can be made by public transport.
A guide section at the back lists all bus and rail services in the county, includes city centre maps, and explains how to read timetables and how to plan a journey.
The message opening the book is: "You don't need a car to get around West Yorkshire. The county has such a good transport system that, with a little care and planning, there are few places that can't be reached for a day trip out."
