• Plant manufacturer JCB is entering the industrial forklift truck market for the first time. The JCB Teletruk, which comes initially with 2.0 and 2.5-tonne lift capacities, has a two-stage telescopic boom instead of a conventional vertical mast.
This offers more than 2m of forward reach at loading heights, as well as improving forward visibility.
A driver can place and remove pallets from the far side of a trailer or body by reaching across the loadbed, rather than having to open the curtain on the second side or to slide pallets across the truck floor.
The Teletruks are available
with Perkins diesel or GM LPG engines and a hydrostatic transmission. They can have a full cab, a part-glazed cab without a door, or a canopy. There is also
a low-height version specifically designed to work in a cargo container. Further Teletruks will be added with lift capacities from three to five tonnes.
