COMMERCIAL policy was the theme of the British Transport Commission officers' conference held at Balliol
College, Oxford, this week. It was attended by members of the Commission and area boards and divisional boards of management.
Mr. David Blee, general manager of the London Midland Region of the railways, addressed over 150 delegates on "The Pattern of Future Traffic," and Maj.-Gen, G. .N. Russell, chairman of British Road Services, spoke on "Selling Transport."
MERGER WORKING WELL OTT-1 the Mayors of Grimsby and Cleethorpes last week said that the amalgamation of the municipal .transport systems of the two towns was working well. There was good feeling on both sides.
Ald. M. Quinn, Mayor of Grimsby, said that if the present satisfactory eon\ ditions continued, it would be unnecessary to revert to separate systems.
