A REPORT in your valuable paper, dated March 22, " under the heading "Pre-war Licence Lapsed: No New Grant," contains a brief reference to a statement made by me denying that our coaches might not be up to standard because they are used six days a week on a miners' service.
I would like to emphasize this point, because colliery workers are as clean as any other passengers and they have shower baths every day. They do not make the
" muck " which some people would suggest. The representative of A. M. Foster, Ltd., must be aware that all coaches come under the supervision of public service vehicle examiners, and the particular vehicles against which criticisms were made, carry certificates of fitness up to September, 1959.
